What is Health? True health is not simply the absence of chronic sickness. Dorland's Medical Dictionary says, "Health is optimal physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". If subluxations are the cause of many health problems, then the absence of subluxations must be a conducive state for expression of true health.
How to Achieve True Health; Removing subluxations is the major way for your body to move toward true health. You're making a way for every bodily system to function as it's intended to function. A subluxation is the root cause for a breakdown in communication throughout the nervous system. Restore the communication of the nervous system and restore health.
Health is not about how well you feel, it's about how well your nervous system functions.
Where's the Proof? Research has proven that decline in organ function is a direct result of abnormal curvature of the spine. We know this because of Dr. Henry Windsor's discovery. There were 97 cadavers in his study and for each cadaver he followed the nerves from every diseased organ all the way back to the spinal cord. Over 95% of the time there was a misalignment of the vertebrae at the location point of where those nerves entered the spinal cord. In other words, a nearly 100% correlation between minor curvatures of the spine and diseases of the internal organs. He discovered that a breakdown in the nervous system leads to diminished health!
How Long Will It Take to Achieve Health? You live your life through your nervous system. If your nervous system is compromised, your overall quality of health diminishes, it can diminish slowly or rapidly. Factors that influence your decline of health include age and severity of subluxations, and previous, current, and future traumas you experience. Just as decline in health can occur slowly or rapidly, so can the restoration of health. Every person is different, and the road to recovery for every person is different.
Ashlee is a patient at our office. A friend of hers had been telling her about Upper Cervical Care for her general lack of well-being. But Ashlee was skeptical because she had been to a general chiropractor before, and she only experienced temporary results. Ashlee says, "I never thought it was possible that I could truly feel good. I thought pain and depression were just things I had to tolerate and live with. I didn't know there could be true healing". Ashlee dealt with depression for most of her life and was dealing with illness more and more frequently. She was also 20 weeks into her second pregnancy and apprehensive about beginning care right away.
Ashlee Decides Not to Give Up; Ashlee was at a crossroads. She had already tried other strategies to regain her health and happiness without success. She was without hope. Ashlee says, "I wanted to be healthy for myself and my baby. I was pretty nervous to begin treatment while pregnant. But after seeing how things worked, and how non-invasive it was, I felt confident and ready for change. I was also in a very dark place with depression, on top of that, I was dealing with the loss of my mom. I was overwhelmed! In a pit that I knew I couldn't get out of on my own. I knew I needed help, and this time, I was ready to receive it."
Upper Cervical Care for Ashlee; "It was a lot at first, but I knew there was a lot to change and improve within my body. After being under care for one month I started having much more energy. I could play with my son and not get tired. I had been told I was borderline gestational diabetic and at risk for pre-term labor, but I am confident that I did not become insulin dependent because I was under Upper Cervical Care. My post-partum recovery improved, I was also able to stop taking medication for depression, and I stopped being reclusive. My life is better, I don't want to go back. I am on a path to constant improvement and better health!"
