What is Innate Intelligence? Innate Intelligence is your body's inborn wisdom of how to function and how to heal from the inside out. This intelligence is built into every cell, tissue, and organ within your body. The big picture is that your body has the ability to combat illness and injury from within; not just minor illness, but major chronic diseases, also.
"Medicine is the study of disease and what causes man to die. Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes man to live."
-B.J Palmer
Your Body Holds the Key; Many believe that something needs to be added to, or taken from, the body in order to achieve health. But the truth is, your body is created with its own self-healing mechanism. Sound a little quacky? It's not! Think about how your body knew how to organize and develop out of one tiny neural streak from inside the womb. Or how all 70 trillion of your cells know what to do at any given second.
But I'm genetically inclined to this disease, right? Doctors would like you to believe that illnesses are genetic. That you are predestined to have allergies, or cancer, or infertility. This is simply not true. Just as all your cells have the ability to be compromised by toxins or free radicals, your cells also have the ability to be protected from these elements. Have you heard of epigenetics? It means that something will act on your genes, an outside force, which can trigger either positive change or negative change. Traumas induce negative outcomes on cells; whereas nutrition, exercise, chiropractic, and a clean environment induce positive outcomes on cells
Upper Cervical Care for Cindy; "Since I started seeing Dr. Garman, I no longer take any prescription medication. I am able to sleep better and I have regained my energy. The aches and pains associated with Lupus are minimal to none. I feel like I've gotten my life back!"
Vitalism holds four core beliefs.
The body is:
Self-developing
Self-organizing
Self-maintaining
Self-healing
.Cindy; Cindy is a patient in our office. She was experiencing frequent and severe migraine headaches, insomnia, and regularly depleted energy levels. She was eventually diagnosed with Lupus, an inflammatory disease where the body begins to attack its own tissues. Cindy's rheumatologist prescribed medication right away to combat her lupus and help with her pain. She says, "sometimes the side effects were worse than the symptoms; the steroids made me sick, and I began to gain weight - I was miserable and still in a lot of pain. I was a prisoner in my own body".
Understanding Her Own Body; Until Cindy came to an understanding of how her body functions, she felt trapped. She expected to experience improvement in her health after following her doctors recommendations and taking prescribed medications, but Cindy found herself getting worse. After learning about Upper Cervical Care, she began to realize that these medications were meant to cover up her symptoms, not eliminate the cause of her disease. After learning about how her body is designed to function she experienced a shift in her beliefs about how true health is achieved.
